Keeping Up With Winter Storms

Spent all of last week picking up storm debris, trimming bushes and raking up pine needles and pinecones. Took 4 loads of debris to the Yard Waste Disposal site (Approximately 120 cubic feet).  Another storm hit last night; wind was only 15 MPH, not much debris. Now I can get back to landscaping.

The old bike is lawn art. In 2004, Andre’ came home with a bike that a neighbor had given him.  His plan was to take my weed trimmer motor, attach it to the bike to give it power.  Been parked there ever since.

2015 Christmas Celebration

Christmas celebration in Seattle, hosted by Chris and Michelle.  Main course for Christmas Eve dinner was the traditional Papa’s Chunky Potato Soup, augmented by great tasting homemade desserts. On Christmas morning Chef Chris and Andre’ blessed us with oversized omelets packed with veggies and ham. Yum, Yum.

Santa's Helper

This Christmas I spend a few weeks working in “ Santa’s Wood Shop” building a Turtle step stool that also serves as a small chair plus a Turtle Block Truck pull toy for Morgan.  Oak was the wood of choice. The pull toy was a little more challenging. I did not want to use any chemicals for the blocks, so I used different types of hardwood (Oak, Hickory, Purple heart and Padouk) and applied mineral oil to bring out the color and grain. The box was made out of oak that was harvested in the early 1940.
