Welcome
to Deadwood, South Dakota. Departed Moab, Ut May 21 headed to Deadwood traveling with my friends (Greg and Etta) from Green Bay, Wi by
way of Casa Grande, Az. Spent
the night of the 21st at a Flying J truck stop in Rawlins, Wyoming. We completed our
journey on the 22nd.
30
miles out of Deadwood (elevation 4,531), we were welcomed by a snowstorm, which
slowed our progress a little. I didn’t mind, it made things a little more
adventurous.
New Flag Pole & Flags
By
the time I set up camp, the snow was gone. Now it was time to discuss our
riding plans while enjoying adult beverages. Custer Peak Fire lookout was out
first target, then the remainder of the time we spend exploring the many trails
around Deadwood. We set one day
aside for touring Deadwood. I found the history of Deadwood to be rather captivating.
Totally different Scenery than Moab, Utah
Nope, We're not lost yet

What a cool set of pictures! I know why you like these old towns. They look like Fort Fairfield mixed with the old western movies you watch over and over and over!😊
ReplyDeleteExactly, remember last year I was in Meeker, Colorado where Billy the Kid use to hang out, in fact I had dinner in the Bar (now a cafe) he use to go drinking in.
