Back to South Forty RV park, Marysvale, Utah

After attending the Fillmore, Utah UTV Jamboree, I headed back to Marysvale, Utah to meet up with some folks I had met on my prior visit.  On July 1st, the South Forty RV Park held a 4th of July celebration (early) for us. We had approximately 90 people in attendance. During the dinner, the owners (Jim & Terri) asked all veterans to stand so we could be recognized and thanked for serving our country. He talked directly to the young adults reminding them how we had served our country for them and the freedoms they enjoy were because of us. (Yep, I think I saw a few tears in the audience) Good friends, food and prizes made it an enjoyable evening. Once again, I met some wonderful fun loving people to hit the trails with and to sit around the campsite during “happy hour” telling stories.

Since I put my little RZR 800 through hell during the Fillmore Jamboree, I decided to stick to semi maintained trails while at Marysvale.  I had lots of opportunities to take pictures of the amazing scenery. I fit in 3 different trails during the week, Upper Box Creek, Deer Trail and Monroe Peak (not the official name, just the destination).  All provided amazing scenery/landscape, even though at times the trails overlapped.

I paid a visit to the Rag Rug Factory in Marysvale. The owners are good friends with Joe and Paula Henrick.  Joe and Paula have been participating in the Fox Farm Habitat for Humanities build in Bayfield, Colorado with me for the past 2 years and we are going to do it again this year.  Joe and Paula invited me to meet them in Priest Gulch, Colorado for some rest and relaxation before we go do the Habitat build.
.
I was also interested in visiting the Rag Rug Factory because my mom use to make rugs out of strips of rags braded together. I use to help her tie the strips together. After they were all braded, she would hand sew them together to make the rug. I was always amazed at how beautiful the rugs turned out.

After seeing the wonderful quilts and rugs, I decided to special order a rag rug to match the décor of my motorhome. It should be ready in a few months.

Thanks to my “little Buddy” (Andre’) I was able to celebrate Canada Day on 1 July. He ordered a Canadian flag for me a few days before I left. Of course it goes without saying, I was ready to celebrate the 4th of July.

Now I'm off to Silverton, Colorado (elevation 9,308 feet)
